Georgian wine presentation in Japan
Tokyo International Exhibition ,, Wine and Gourmet Japan 2017 \"was held, where with National Wine Agency organization and the Embassy of Georgia in Japan support, 14 Georgian wine companies were presented.
Within the exhibition a special event \"Georgia - 8 thousand vintages\" was held, which was lead by the head of marketing and PR department of National Wine Agency Irakli Cholobargia. The interest of wine professionals and local media towards the seminar was great - it was attended by the famous sommeliers and wine professionals from various prefectures of Japan.
The exhibition was attended by the Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Georgia in Japan, Levan Tsintsadze. Ambassador hopes that participation in the similar events will contribute to the growth of the import of Georgian wine in Japan.
\"Georgian wine publicity in Japan is increasing every year, due to the National Wine Agency and our Embassy joint efforts. Georgian wine import grows by 15-20% each year. Annually, at least 3 Georgian importer company joins the Japanese market, that gives us the hope that Georgian wine export will continue to increase in Japan. Georgian wine, especially Qvevri wine suits the Japanese cuisine very well, which is a very important factor, \"- said Levan Tsintsadze.
As the head of Marketing and PR department of National Wine Agency said, in 2014 Japan was identified as one of the potentially growing market for Georgian wine.
\"We have planned large-scale marketing campaigns in Japan, however since 2015 we have been taking part in two important exhibitions - \"FoodEx Japan \"and\" Wine and Gourmet \", within which separate Georgian wine seminars and tastings are organized. Participation in these fairs is the best way to popularize production in Japan, develop on the Japanese market find the local distributors. Georgian wine with its uniqueness and diversity, has great potential to gain a foothold on the Japanese market – Georgia has a lot to offer this market \"- said Irakli Cholobargia.
14 Georgian wine companies were represented at the united Georgian stand: \"Telavi Wine Cellar\", \"Tbilvino\", \"Corporation Georgian Wine\", “Imeri\" , \" Kakhuri \" , \" Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking\", \"Wineman\" , \" Maranuli\", \"Shilda\", \"Giuaani\", \"Dugladze Wines and Spirits\" “Shumi \", “ Satsnakheli\" and \"Royal Khvanchkara\".
In 2017 \"Wine and Gourmet Japan\" was visited by more than 75 thousand guests. It is considered as one of the most important exhibitions in the Asian countries.
