Georgian Wine Producers Make New Deals in China

In the city of Sichuan province, Chengdu, China, the 96th China Food & Drinks Fair was held, in which with National Wine Agency promotion, 26 Georgian wine maker companies participated.

The event was attended by the Deputy Head of Marketing and PR department of National Wine Agency, Tamta Kvelaidze. As she says, 250 thousand people attended the first day of the fair which is the highest number in recorded history.

“Georgian wines were greatly appreciated at the fair. Representatives of Georgian wine companies met existing partners as well as potential importers.  During the fair, new deals were made. The exhibition mentioned above is being held since 1955 and is considered as the most important fair in China. The fair is a perfect opportunity to make Georgian wine more popular and notable on the south-east Asian market”- stated Tamta Kvelaidze.

This year, the following Georgian Wine companies were represented: Kindzamarauli Ltd,  Besini,  Telavi Wine Cellar/Marani, Tbilvino, Teliani Valley, Georgian Wine House, Twins Wine Cellar, Château Mukhrani, Shalvino, Winery Khareba, Tiflis Wine Cellar, Vaziani Company, Kakhuri, Maranuli, Sarakishvili, Shilda, Batono, Bagrationi 1882, Wineman, Schuchmann Wines, Tigishvili Wine Company, Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking, Guremani, Mildiani, Kakhuri Gvinis Marani, Dugladze  Wine&Spirits Georgian Wines&Spirits.

Chengdu exhibition is different in format and is carried out in two levels.  The first level is held in a hotel restaurant and is attended by only commercial persons: importers, distributors, representatives of restaurants and hotels and the second is organized in the exhibition area.

 

832 552 bottles of wine have been exported from Georgia to China, that is 280% higher, than the similar data of the last year. China takes the third place in the list of exporter countries.
