Georgian Wine Presentation in Japan
Georgian wine seminar-presentation was organized within the 42nd food and drink international fair, “FOODEX JAPAN 2017” in the capital of Japan, Tokyo. The official opening of the exhibition and Georgian wine presentation was attended by the Ambassador of Georgia in Japan, Levan Tsintsadze.
Georgian wine seminar was led by the Head of marketing and PR department of National Wine Agency, Irakli Cholobargia and the seminar was attended by wine journalists, wine importers, exporters and representatives of restaurants and shopping chains. The presentation contained a brief summary of 8 thousand year development of the Georgian wine history and culture. 6 Georgian wines were represented at the degustation.
As Irakli Cholobargia noted, Japanese wine experts are highly interested in Georgian wine styles, especially in Qvevri wines.
“Japanese market is very interesting and has great perspective for Georgian wine export. Japanese consumers and wine professionals express great interest towards Georgian wine in the recent years, that is reflected on the progressive export. National Wine Agency marketing activities in this country contain participation in degustations and fairs, as well as planning Japanese wine experts\\\' business visits in Georgia to give them opportunity to learn Georgian wine and it\\\'s culture here” - mentioned Irakli Cholobargia.
National Wine Agency and LEPL Enterprise Georgia organized a fair where 11 Georgian companies were represented and 6 of them were wine companies - “Winery Khareba”, “Corporation Kindzmarauli”, “Dugladze Wines and Spirits”, “Besini”, “Vaziani Company” and “Schuchmann Wines”.
“FOODES JAPAN” is held since 1976 and is considered as one of the largest-scale exhibition in Asia. This year, nearly 80 countries are represented at the fair and is attended by thousands of wine importers, professionals and amateurs.
