Chinese Market of 70 Million Population Province Hunan Is Going To Be Opened for Georgian Wine
Georgian wine export in Hunan, province of 7 million population, People\'s Republic of China is opening. After his business visit in China, the head of National Wine Agency, Giorgi Samanishvili announced about this.
Giorgi Samanishvili was invited in the administrative capital of Hunan province, Changsha at the opening of a shopping center as a guest of honour. Georgian wine is also represented in the centre.
“In the capital of 70 million population province Hunan, Changsha, the third-largest shopping center was opened, Georgian wine is also represented. Within the framework of the visit in Changsha, we arranged meetings with the vice-governor, also the commercial director of the shopping center, Georgian wine perspectives were discussed. Representatives of Hunan province are interested in Georgian wine import and for this purpose, they are going to visit Georgia in the beginning of the next year” - mentioned Giorgi Samanishvili.
Within the framework of the head of National Wine Agency visit in China, Georgian wine space was also opened in Shanghai Free Trade Zone Wine Exchange Center, initially 10 Georgian wine company production is represented. As Giorgi Samanishvili stated, future activities are being planned for expansion of varieties of Georgian wines represented in the center.
“Shanghai Free Trade Zone Wine Exchange Center represents professional wine dealer world organization and representing Georgian wine here is important as a matter of prestige and also for achieving certain goals, specifically increasing Georgian wine sales on China market” - stated Giorgi Samanishvili.
On July 27 of the current year, memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and “Silk Road Camber of International Commerce” in Shanghai, which provided organizing Georgian wine national space in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone Wine Exchange Center.
Georgian wine was also represented at the large-scaled international fair “Prowein China 2016” in Shanghai last week. With National Wine Agency support, 30 Georgian wine-maker companies participated in the fair. Within the framework of the fair, Georgian wine seminar/degustation was held for wine importers and media representatives, which was led by wine magister, Debra Meiburg. Debra Meiburg also organized Georgian wine degustation within the framework of “Wine in China Conference” in Shanghai.
