Presentation of Georgian
Wine in The USA
National Wine Agency has
organized presentation of Georgian
wines on 5 events in the United States
during the last week: RAW NY and RAW LA natural wines international exhibitions
in New York and Los Angeles, as well as specialized tasting-presentations for
major wine importers, distributors and
media.
The Georgian wine tasting
was led by the famous American wine writer and professional Elis Feiring. During the event, presentation of the
book "Tasting Georgia", by the famous Italian photographer, traveler
and wine writer Carla Capalbose was also held.
According to Tamta
Kvelaidze, the Deputy Head of Marketing and PR Department of the National Wine
Agency, the events have shown that interest towards Georgian wine is
increasing, which is reflected in the export data.
“Presentation of Georgian
wine at RAW in New York and Los Angeles gives us a unique opportunity to
introduce Qvevri wine in large
scales in the US, which remains the
strategic export market for Georgian wines. 3 tasting events were held in these
cities: two of them in New York and one in Los Angeles, which
allows potential importers and
representatives of winemaking industry with international reputation to explore Georgian wines"- noted Tamta
Kvelaidze.
According to the data of 10
months of the current year, 395 thousand bottles of wine have been exported to
the USA, which is 68% higher than the
data of the same period of the last
year. Among the 50 exporters, the US moved to 9th place this year. According to
Tamta Kvelaidze, the export potential of Georgian wine in the US is far
greater, accordingly, in 2018 the
National Wine Agency is planning to continue marketing activities in this
country.

wine cellars were presented at the
exhibitions held in the USA: "Natenadze's Wine Cellar", "Gotsa
Wines", "Archil Guniava Wine Cellar - Kvaliti", "Kereselidze
Wine Cellar", "Naotari", "Orgo", "Babaneuris Marani
", " Bruale" , " Iveri "," Makaridze Winery
", "Wine Thieves "," Papari Valley" and "Amiran
Vepkhvadze's Wine Cellar ".
