Georgian Wine Tasting-Presentations Were Held in Bordeaux
During the exhibition "Georgia-Cradle of Wine” in the World Center for Wine Civilization, Bordeaux, France, Georgian wine tasting-presentations were held on October 13-15, which was headed by Giorgi Samanishvili, Chairman of National Wine Agency, Julia Harding, a famous master of wine, Erve Roma, wine expert and Ana Godabrelidze, Chairman of the National Wine Agency's Tasting Commission.
Tasting and presenting events were attended by up to 100 guests - wine lovers and professional.
The Cité des Civilisations Du Vin is hosting the Georgian Exhibition from July this year. The exhibition offers visitors the possibility to get acquainted with the continuous history of viticulture and winemaking in Georgia and, at the same time, Georgian and foreign masters of wine lead Georgian wine tasting.
"The exhibition at the Wine Civilization Center is the best way to introduce Georgian wine to the wine lovers from around the world. During the exhibition, many tasting-presentation events were held, where participants were able to get acquainted with Georgian wine, diversity of Georgian grape varieties, wine making methods. Such tasting allows the consumers not only to taste wine but also to ask questions, get more information, get acquainted with various opinions, " stated Giorgi Samanishvili.
At the tasting held for the guests of the museum, wine experts Julia Harding and Eve Roma talked about the diversity of Georgian grape varieties, 8000 years of continuous history of viticulture and winemaking and Georgian winemaking traditions, including the uniqueness of Qvevri wine.
"Georgia's representation in Bordeaux is very important. Bordeaux is the largest region of winemaking, where a lot of good wine is produced. This region has a long history of winemaking, but I am sure not longer than Georgia. It is a great honor for me to share the views of the Georgian wine quality and nature with the visitors of the exhibition, "said Julia Harding in assessing the importance of the presentation and tasting.
It should be noted, that Georgia is the first invited country, which opened a cycle of viticulture and winemaking exhibitions in the center of wine civilization in Bordeaux and is an honorable host of the museum.
