 9 Month Data of Wine And Alcohol Beverage Export 2017

In January-September 2017, 52,7  mil. bottles (0,75l)  of wine have been exported to 45 countries worldwide, that is 63% higher than the similar data of the last year. In the period under review, 116 mil. USD worth of wine have been exported, that is 55% higher than the data of the previous year.

“According to the export data of  January-September 2017, wine export are up by 63% compared with the same period of the previous year. Wine realization income has grown by 55%, that gives the possibility to make a prediction that at the end of the year a record number of  wine will be exported from Georgia. Export growth is remarkable  in the countries of European Union, Asia, USA and other countries, which is a result of coordinated work and well planed marketing activity of the National Wine Agency and wine sector”- stated the Head of the National Wine Agency, Giorgi Samanishvili.

Export growth is remarkable in the following countries: China - 44% (5537261), Russia- - 95% (33243157), Ukraine - 54%(5322683), Poland  - 14% (1869852), Latvia  - 36% (1141778), Belarus - 34% (1054994), USA - 81% (346398), Germany - 28% (286156), Israel  - 305% (170834), Mongolia - 182% (112710), France - - 321% (96790), Azerbaijan  - 102% (102 342)  and etc.

The first five of the exporter countries is the following: Russia - (33243157), China - (5537261), Ukraine -  (5322683), Poland – (1869852) and Kazakhstan - (2044143).

In addition, 11 354 403  bottles (0,5 liters) of brandy have been exported to 22 countries worldwide, that is 89% higher than the similar data of the last year.  Totally, 25 million USD worth of brand have been exported, the growth compared to the similar data of the last year is 84%.

In the period under review, 147 thousand bottles (0.5 l) of  “Chacha”  have been exported in 18 countries worldwide, growth amounted  131 %. Income of “Chacha” export amounted   439,3  USD, the growth compared to the last year is  83%.  

Totally, wine, bandy, “Chacha”, wine material and brandy alcohol income amounted 194 mil. USD – growth in comparison with the similar data of the previous year amounted 54%.
