Georgian Wine Week Was Opened in Marneuli with Wine Festival
Today Georgian Wine Week was opened in Marneuli with the "Georgian Wine Festival".
“Georgian Wine Festival” was held in Marneuli as an archaeological center of Georgian Vine and Wine with local municipality and National Wine Agency organization.
Representatives of local government welcomed the guests. The festival was attended by the deputy chairman of National Wine Agency, Andro Aslanishvili, who addressed participants of the festival.
“Here, in this very land are the oldest exhibits found, that gave us the opportunity to make the most important conclusions about the Georgian wine culture. These exhibits are presented at the exhibition "Georgia - The Cradle of Wine" in wine civilization center of Bordeaux, France, that gives us sufficient cause to be proud. We should definitely continue and establish tradition of celebrating this holiday in Marneuli "- noted Andro Aslanishvili.
During the festival, grapes were pressed in “Satsnakheli”, the guests opened Qvevri and tasted wines, competition was held in Georgian traditional wrestling. In addition, exhibition-shop of Georgian wine, honey, cheese and other agricultural products was held.
During the festival, On October 1, 11:00 - "New Small Cellars 2017", is organized in wine factory N1. On October 7-8, during “Tbilisoba 2017”, 15 wine companies will be represented at the exhibition-shop “Autumn harvest“ in Rike park, On October 7th wine festival "Telavi" is celebrated in Telavi.
