28.09.2017

A group of Dutch Sommeliers has visited Georgia, according to which  Georgian wine has great potential to increase export in the Dutch market. The Dutch guests visited wine companies in Tbilisi, Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti.
According to Niels Van Overmeire, the best Sommelier of the year in  Holland, several companies have already been exporting Georgian wine to the Dutch market, but the potential is much bigger.
“I think Georgian wines  re very upcoming,  you need to keep what you are doing right now, I see a different style of wines, natural wines and bigger wines, I think it's very important that the work in the “Marani” is clean, there you get a pure quality of wine”,-he stated.
The Dutch sommeliers had the opportunity to taste wines of the following companies: “Eristavi Qvevri Wine”, “Bolnuri”, “Gotsa Wines”, “Tbilvino”, “Schuchmann Wines Georgia”, “Telavi Wine Cellar”, “Papari Walley”, “Pheasant's Tears” and  “Mosmieri”.
In order to increase the awareness of  Georgian wine, National Wine Agency signed a contract with Wine Importer Company "Saperavi Wine Agency" in 2017, which imports Georgian wine in Holland and manages various marketing activities.
“Saperavi Wine Agency” organized tasting of   Georgian  wines in Amsterdam in July this year. After this very visit, Dutch Guild of Sommeliers made decision to send  a group of Dutch sommeliers is Georgia.
