“Georgian Wine Festival” was held in Singapore and China cities – Shanghai and Hong-Kong. The festival was organized by master of wine,  head of National Wine Agency contractor company “Meiburg Wine Media” - Debra Meiburg.

“Georgian Wine Festival” was attended by local wine importers, masters, representatives of media, restaurants and hotel chains.

According to Debra Meiburg,  the festival in Asian countries was successful, especially in Singapore, where Georgian wine tasting was first  organized in this format. According to her, many of Singaporean importers have already expressed their  interest in Georgian wine.

“In Hong-Kong people have been hearing about Georgian wine, but the presence of wine-makers, wineries themselves here is the key to the success in the market. This is the place of relationships, people meet, taste the wine and they have the confidence to move forward with Georgian wine. In the Shanghai market we see the great success for Georgia with working on Shanghai for a few years  now. It' very clear that the wines appeal to the pallets in the market, I think the freshness, the varieties like Saperavi, alcohol and the largely delicate wine-making styles of these wines are really well suited to this markets. And with the new trade agreement, I can not wait to see what's  next for Georgia in China.

Giorgi Sikharulidze, chief specialist of the Marketing and Public Relations Department of the National Wine Agency noted, that Georgian wine tasting held during the festival made great impression on local wine professionals.

“Debra Meiburg has organized visits in wine bars and shops for Georgian wine companies and representatives of National Wine Agency, where the parties changed the information and contacts. Accordingly, local market tendencies and demands became available for the Georgian party, that gives opportunity of right strategic planning and realization of Georgian wine on South-East Asian market” - stated Giorgi Sikharulidze.

Debra Meiburg presented 10 Georgian wines and their pairing with 5 local meals at the tasting held in Singapore and performed a tasting and seminar on Georgian wine at the events organized in Shanghai and Hong-Kong.
