Silk Road Business Summit in Xian
Georgian Delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili attended the ‘’ Silk Road Business Leadership Summit and Silk road chamber of International Commerce Annual Conference-2016’’ on September 5-8 in Xi\'an - capital of Shaanxi province in China.
The event was organized by the Silk Road Chamber of Commerce, Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Shaanxi Foreign Economic & Trade Industrial Group and Government of Shaanxi province. The annual summit is titled as the joint effort in building a platform for business collaboration, joint projects and cooperation with Silk road economic belt countries.
The major events highlighted in this year\'s summit were dedicated to the ancient traditions of the Chinese tea and Georgian wine. Georgian wine corner was opened within the frame of the event, presentation of Georgian wine was held which included wine-tasting as well. Trade Fair of Georgian Classic Wine & Tea was organized in Xi\'an Tang West Market Silk Road Museum under the frame of the exhibition dedicated to the Silk Road Business Summit. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili noted, that Silk Road Summit is an annual event which is held under the Chinese President\'s initiative “One Belt One Road”, which connects more than 60 countries.
,, Georgia had a special guest status at the summit. We organized a special corner to present Georgian wine. Gradually Georgian wine is becoming more popular in the Chinese market. Therefore significant increase is observed in exports (3 368 361 bottles of wine is exported in China according to 2016 8 months data), important meetings were held between producers and Chinese importers under the frame of the summit. It should be noted, that the Silk Road economic cooperation between the two countries will be further enhanced and bring positive outcomes\" - Levan Davitashvili said. Silk Road business summit embraces representatatives of the Chamber of Commerce, entrepreneurs and private companies 40 countries. The government delegation of different countries, also diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of China attended the event.
The city of Xi\'an might be considered as the starting point of the Silk Road - said the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People\'s Republic of China, Mongolia and Vietnam David Aptsiauri. It is noteworthy, that province of Shaanxi, particularly city Xi\'an is marked by the frequency of high-level international forums, conferences and summits. Georgia has taken part in a number of particular events over the last years.
,, This is a very important forum Georgia is represented as a special guest, moreover participation program is specially made for Georgia and Georgian wine was the central theme of the event.Georgian wine is promoted in the Chinese market. The Georgian exposition organized within the frame of the forum was attended not only by the representatives of the business sector, but journalists and diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of China as well, therefore, this event will further contribute to raise awareness of Georgian wine in China and other countries\"- said David Aptsiauri.
Georgian Delegation was comprised of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Investment Agency, Partnership Fund, the Office of the President, the Ministry of Rail Transportation, Ministry of Agriculture, the National Wine Agency, Georgian wine producing companies, Vice-Chairman of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce, Honorary Chairman of the Trade and Industry Chamber, Jemal Inaishvili, and General Director of the Georgian Wine Promotion Center in China Adam Huang.
