American Master of Wine Lisa Perrotti-Brown Assessed More Than 100 Georgian Wines at a Special Tasting
With financial support from the National Wine Agency and organized by the American company Big Sky Ranch Inc, American Master of Wine Lisa Perrotti-Brown visited Georgia.
Lisa Perrotti-Brown visited Georgian wine companies and cellars in Kakheti, where she tasted a diverse range of Georgian wines and learned about Georgian winemaking traditions.
At a special tasting held in Tbilisi, the Master of Wine tasted and assessed more than 100 wines from approximately 50 wine companies.
Following her visit, Lisa Perrotti-Brown will prepare articles on Georgian wines for the American publication The Wine Palate. The online publication The Wine Palate features a database of wines from around the world assessed by experts, with regularly updated reviews.
Lisa Perrotti-Brown primarily reviews American and Bordeaux wines, as well as Champagne, with Georgian wines added to her coverage last year.
Master of Wine Lisa Perrotti-Brown has worked in the wine industry for more than 25 years and ranks 47th among the 100 most influential people in the American wine industry.
The United States is one of Georgian wine’s strategic export markets. Targeted marketing activities carried out since 2013 with the support of the National Wine Agency have significantly contributed to raising awareness of Georgian wine and increasing exports to the United States.
In the first nine months of this year, Georgia exported approximately 750,000 liters of wine to the United States, exceeding the volume recorded in the same period last year by 3%.
