As of 30 September, 121 thousand tonnes of grapes have been processed in Kakheti
Of the 121,000 tonnes of grapes processed, 99.3% are of high and medium quality, and only 0.7% are poor-quality and unripe grapes. Grapes with high and medium sugar content account for 120,054 tonnes, while unripe and poor-quality grapes account for 946 tonnes.
Nearly 9 thousand winegrowers in Kakheti have delivered their grape harvest.
The state-owned Harvest Management Company LLC is accepting grapes from winegrowers at 21 locations across various municipalities in Kakheti.
The grape harvest in Kakheti is at its peak.
The projected harvest is up to 320 thousand tonnes.
To ensure an organised harvest and the sale of the entire crop, the Government of Georgia has decided that, in the event of a surplus, all winegrowers will have the opportunity to sell their grapes. For this purpose, Harvest Management Company LLC is accepting grapes grown in Kakheti from individuals under the established conditions:
The price per kilogram of Saperavi with a sugar content of at least 20% is GEL 1.50; for grapes with a sugar content between 16% and 20%, GEL 1.00; and for grapes with a sugar content below 16%, GEL 0.50 .
For Rkatsiteli and other wine grape varieties, the price per kilogram for grapes with a sugar content of at least 19% is GEL 1.30; for grapes with a sugar content between 16% and 19%, GEL 0.90 ; and for grapes with a sugar content below 16%, GEL 0.50.
