National Wine Agency Opens Its First Regional Branch in Gurjaani
Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Davit Songulashvili opened the first regional branch of the National Wine Agency in Gurjaani.
The new office will make it easier for winemakers and winegrowers to access the Agency’s services and obtain relevant information. Staff will provide consultations to local entrepreneurs and assist them in communicating with the Agency.
At the initial stage, the Grape Harvest Coordination Centre will operate from these premises. In the future, the building will also accommodate the Kakheti branches of the National Wine Agency’s State Tasting Commission and LLC Wine Laboratory.
“A large proportion of Georgia’s wine cellars and companies are concentrated in Kakheti; therefore, access to services within the region is particularly important for local winemakers. The new office will enable them to conduct laboratory analyses of wine locally in Gurjaani. This will significantly simplify quality control procedures, save entrepreneurs time and financial resources, and facilitate the timely receipt of the documentation required for the sale of wine,” Davit Songulashvili stated.
The opening of the new office in Gurjaani was attended by Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency; Platon Kalmakhelidze, State Representative in the Kakheti Region; members of Parliament; and the mayors of Kakheti’s municipalities.
The Gurjaani branch of the National Wine Agency is located at 23 Ioseb Noneshvili Avenue, Gurjaani.
