Georgian Wine Tasting Held at Rockefeller Center
With the support of the National Wine Agency and organised by the Agency’s contractor company, Vinoveli Inc., a Georgian wine presentation and tasting and a business forum were held at Rockefeller Center in New York City, United States.
The event was attended by wine bloggers, importers, and representatives of the media, HoReCa (hotel-café-restaurant) and commercial sectors. They had the opportunity to taste approximately 40 bottles of various types of wine produced by Georgian wine companies.
Activities of this format serve to promote Georgian wine, increase consumer interest, and enhance the recognition and competitiveness of Georgian wine in the US market.
During the events, visitors tasted various types of premium-quality Georgian wine and received information about the 8,000-year heritage of Georgian wine, the diversity of local grape varieties and the traditional technology of Qvevri winemaking.
The United States is one of the strategic markets for Georgian wine, where both quality requirements and the level of competition are high. In recent years, numerous marketing activities implemented with the support of the National Wine Agency have contributed significantly to increasing the recognition and exports of Georgian wine in the US market.
It is noteworthy that the US market represents one of the highest-priced segments for Georgian wine, where the average export price of one litre of Georgian wine is approximately USD 6.
