The article was prepared with the involvement of the National Wine Agency’s American contractor, Glodow Nead Communications, and presents five reasons why readers should taste and appreciate Georgian wine.

In particular, the article highlights Georgia’s 8,000-year history of winemaking and its recognition as the homeland of wine, the diversity of its endemic grape varieties, the culture of the Georgian table, the country’s natural beauty, and the growing popularity of Georgian natural wines: https://grapefriend.com/2026/06/08/5-reasons-to-try-georgian-wine/.

The author of the article, Alyssa Vitrano, visited Georgia in May of this year. As part of a wine tour organized with the support of the National Wine Agency, she and other representatives of the American media participated in events dedicated to National Wine Day. They visited wine cellars in Kakheti and Kartli, where they became acquainted with both Georgian winemaking traditions and modern winemaking practices.

Grapefriend is a popular American publication that combines wine culture and pop culture. Its founder is Alyssa Vitrano, a journalist and television producer who has worked with Marie Claire and MTV.
