According to the draft law, the definition of a “Small Wine Cellar” is being changed and its maximum annual production limit is being reduced from 40,000 liters to 25,000 liters. In addition, the term “home wine” is being replaced by “Natural Wine,” which implies production without the use of systemic pesticides, herbicides, and other synthetic chemical agents.

The draft law makes mandatory the labeling of certified alcoholic beverages.

The National Wine Agency will carry out the labeling of alcoholic beverages in accordance with the rules established by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

In addition, all categories of wine intended for both export and sale on the local consumer market will be subject to mandatory organoleptic testing, except for the "natural wine" category.
