Regarding the statement made with the media by Tamaz Omanadze, the founder ofKhomlis Marani”, as if the wine produced by his company was negatively evaluated by the tasting commission of the National Wine Agency, we would like to clarify that this information is not true.

"Khomlis Marani" is a small winery the products of which have not yet been subjected to organoleptic testing/tasting.

According to the "Law of Georgia on Vine and Wine", the products of wineries/companies the annual production of which does not exceed 40,000 liters of wine are not subject to tasting, in addition, the total sulfur dioxide content in the wine must not exceed 40 mg/l, and the number of bottles bottled under 1 lot number must not exceed 3,000.

The organoleptic testing/tasting of alcoholic beverages with a protected designation of origin produced in Georgia and all categories of wines intended for export is carried out by the permanent tasting commission of the Agency.
