In the People's Republic of China, as part of the international promotion of Georgia's viticulture and winemaking sector, a representative of the National Wine Agency delivered a presentation titled "Georgia - the Homeland of Wine" at China Agricultural University.

The Chief Specialist of the Viticulture Cadastre Department, Professor Irma Mdinaradze, gave a presentation-lecture on modern approaches to the protection and study of Georgian autochthonous grape varieties and the gene pool of Georgian wild grapevines, as well as on the practice of the Georgian vineyard cadastre.

“The introduction of the vineyard cadastre system ensures wine quality control and increases the competitiveness of production. The program has already attracted high interest and may become an important model for the People’s Republic of China. Special attention was paid to the role of Georgia as the homeland of vines and wine in the global wine industry and the importance of spreading this experience internationally,” stated Irma Mdinaradze.

The event was attended by lecturers and doctoral students from China Agricultural University. Participants expressed particular interest in the Georgian Vineyard Cadastre Program, implemented by the National Wine Agency since 2014. Within the framework of the program, up to 50,000 hectares of vineyards have been identified in Georgia, ensuring strategic management of the sector.
