"Georgian wines are becoming more and more popular in the Korean market," - Vice President of the Korea International Sommelier Association
With the organization of the National Wine Agency, a group of wine professionals from the Republic of Korea visited Georgia under the leadership of Chan Jun Park, Vice President of the Korea International Sommelier Association and founder of the Wine Writers Club.
The eight-member group included sommeliers, importers and influencers who are highly interested in finding new partners in Georgia, which is important for increasing the awareness and export of Georgian wine.
As part of the tour, Korean wine professionals visited Georgian wine companies and wineries in Kakheti; they got acquainted with the technology and traditions of Georgian wine production on the spot; a wine tasting of several producers was held in Tbilisi.
"Georgian wines are becoming more and more popular in the Korean market. Korean consumers are well acquainted with the world's wines; they appreciate original, authentic tastes and unique characteristics. With this in mind, Georgian wine has great potential in Korea. Georgian wine was not so well known in the Korean market before, but now its import is growing rapidly. I believe that Georgian wine has a very strong future in Korea and we really need more and more diversity," said Chan Jun Park.
The National Wine Agency has been actively implementing various marketing activities in the market of the Republic of Korea for the sixth year. Accordingly, since 2019, the Republic of Korea has emerged as an important market for the promotion of Georgian wine, where many important events have been held with the organization and support of the National Wine Agency.
