With the support of the National Wine Agency, about 20 Georgian wine producers participated in the "RAW Wine NYC" exhibition held in New York City, USA.
The "RAW Wine" exhibition (The Artisan Wine Fair) brings together producers of high-quality natural, organic and biodynamic wines from different countries around the world.
"One of the main goals of the National Wine Agency is to help increase the awareness of family wineries' wine in international markets. At this exhibition, we have the opportunity to showcase Qvevri wine on a large scale, introduce it to representatives of the winemaking sector with international reputation, and give producers the opportunity to find potential importers," - said Elene Kiknadze, Head of the Exhibitions and Events Coordination Department of the National Wine Agency.
The organizer of the "RAW Wine" exhibition is Isabelle Legeron, a well-known Master of Wine from France. This year, with the support of the National Wine Agency, Georgian wine cellars also participated in the "RAW Wine" exhibitions held in Paris, Shanghai, Tokyo, Copenhagen and Verona.
"This year we have the largest representation from Georgia. When we taste Georgian wines, it is clear how different each one is. Such a variety of grape varieties is truly unique. It is very pleasant that more and more winemakers are working with previously little-known varieties. Previously, we mainly saw Rkatsiteli and Saperavi, but now we see Kisi, Khikhvi, Mtsvane much more often, as well as rosé and naturally sparkling, which is very gratifying. Accordingly, the quality improves every year and the variety of styles increases," - said Isabelle Legeron.
Maia Bartaia, the Consul General of Georgia in New York, attended the Georgian Wine Festival in New York. Georgian winemakers also received support from the Consulate General of Georgia in New York to present wine in the USA.
For one week, Georgian wine was presented at two important events in New York - the first Georgian Amber Wine Festival "Amber Georgia" and the exhibition "RAW Wine NYC".
With the financial and organizational support of the National Wine Agency, in order to increase the export potential of Georgian wine and diversify markets, in the 10 months of 2025, Georgian wine was presented at 29 exhibitions-festivals and about 250 tastings-seminars in the USA, Europe and Asia, in a total of 20 countries.
