With the support of the National Wine Agency, about 25 different styles of wine from eight Georgian wine-producing companies were showcased at the international food and wine exhibition China Food and Drinks Fair. This year, the exhibition was held in the city of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.
The China Food & Drink Fair, held for the 113th time this year, is considered one of the most professional and influential exhibitions in Asia. Traditionally, the fair attracts up to 300,000 visitors, including wine importers, bloggers, distributors, representatives of the HoReCa (hotel–restaurant–café) sector, media, and professionals from the wine industry worldwide. The presentation of Georgian wine at the event contributes to attracting new business partners and, consequently, to increasing exports to the People’s Republic of China.
It is noteworthy that China is one of the key strategic markets for Georgian wine. Since 2013, an active marketing campaign has been conducted to enhance the awareness and export of Georgian wine in China. The country has firmly established itself among the top five export destinations for Georgian wine. From January to September of the current year, 2.2 million liters of Georgian wine were exported to China, representing a 16% increase compared to the same period last year.
With the support of the National Wine Agency, Georgian wine has been represented this year at several exhibitions in the People’s Republic of China, including Fine Wine Hotel Exhibition, The China Food & Drinks Fair, RAW Wine Shanghai, Shanghai International Wine Challenge (SIWC), and Interwine China 2025.
