In order to increase the export of Georgian wine to the U.S. market, eight Georgian wineries were represented at the international wine festival Karakterre in New York City, organized by the National Wine Agency of Georgia and the American marketing company Colangelo & Partners. This year, the National Wine Agency was one of the sponsors of the festival.
Karakterre is one of the world’s leading wine festivals, bringing together producers of organic, biodynamic, and natural wines from various countries. It is held annually in historic locations in Austria and in New York. This year, about 200 wine producers from nearly 30 countries participated in the event.
Thousands of visitors of the festival had the opportunity to taste around 15 different styles of Georgian wine, which is of great importance for increasing the awareness and popularity of Georgian wine.
As part of the festival, a Saperavi masterclass was also held.
On one of the strategic markets for Georgian wine—the United States—the National Wine Agency carries out a marketing campaign in cooperation with the leading American marketing company Colangelo & Partners. Within the framework of this campaign, tasting seminars are held in various U.S. cities for wine professionals and representatives of the wine trade industry. In addition, Georgian wine is presented at international exhibitions, and wine tours to Georgia are organized for media representatives, sommeliers, and sales professionals. These activities contribute to better awareness and promotion of Georgian wine on the American market.
