With the aim of promoting Georgian wine and boosting exports on the German market, a group of journalists, bloggers, and influencers from Germany visited Georgia. The visit was organized by the contractor marketing company ff.k Public Relations with financial support from the National Wine Agency.
The 11-member group visited wine-producing companies and wineries in Kartli and Kakheti, where they tasted various styles of Georgian wine and learned about the traditional qvevri winemaking process and technology. A masterclass and tasting session of Georgian wine also took place in Tbilisi.
"In order to increase awareness of Georgian wine in Germany, we are actively working with the National Wine Agency. We brought to Georgia journalists who specialize in wine, as well as those focused on lifestyle and travel topics. We also have influencers who are creating content and giving their followers the opportunity to discover Georgia. During the visit, we saw a lot beyond just the wineries — daily life and Georgian culture. I think this is a fantastic opportunity for the journalists and influencers alike. The wineries are truly amazing, the Georgian wines are excellent, and the cuisine is wonderful," – stated ff.k Public Relations consultant, Svenja Meiring.
Since 2020, Germany — the largest wine importer in Europe — has been added to the list of strategic markets for Georgian wine.
To promote Georgian wine and increase its export potential, the National Wine Agency began cooperating with the German company ff.k Public Relations in 2021. The active promotional campaign continues this year as well. As part of the campaign, tasting seminars are held in various German cities for wine professionals, representatives of the wine trade sector, and consumers. Georgian wine is featured at international exhibitions, while targeted advertising and media campaigns are being carried out. Additionally, wine tours to Georgia are organized for members of the media, sommeliers, and sales professionals.
