Up to 120 Private Wine Companies Have Already Expressed Interest in Participating in the 2025 Harvest
As of August 26, nearly 120 wine companies have registered with the Harvest Coordination Headquarters to participate in the grape reception and processing process.
"Based on the experience of previous years, our expectation is that by the end of the harvest, up to 400 wine enterprises will be involved in the grape reception and processing process. The Coordination Headquarters is fully prepared to ensure the successful execution of the harvest, allowing all grape growers to deliver their crops fully and without interruption. This year’s government decision to support the harvest aims to reward the labor of grape growers and place greater value on those farmers who produce healthy and quality grapes," stated Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency.
The Harvest Coordination Headquarters is located in the village of Gurjaani, within the Gurjaani Municipality. For information related to the harvest, individuals can contact the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture via its hotline – 1501, or the Harvest Coordination Headquarters hotline – 0322 193 283.
In the 2025 harvest process, by decision of the Government of Georgia, subsidies will no longer be provided to private wine companies. In the event that the private sector is unable to purchase the entire grape yield, the state-owned enterprise "Harvest Management Company" LLC will be responsible for purchasing the surplus. The state enterprise will procure the Saperavi grape variety harvested in the Kakheti region at 1.50 GEL per kilogram; other permitted wine grape varieties, as defined by the Georgian Law on Vine and Wine, at 1.20 GEL per kilogram; and non-standard, damaged, and/or diseased grapes at 1.00 GEL per kilogram.
