Within the framework of Rtveli 2025, the state enterprise will purchase the unsold grape harvest
No subsidies will be issued to private wine companies
An amendment has been made to the Government of Georgia’s Resolution of 4 July 2025 “On Measures to be Implemented for the Organized Conduct of the 2025 Rtveli.”
According to the amendment, unlike previous years, subsidies will no longer be issued to private wine companies.
The volume of grapes for which there will be no demand from the private sector will be purchased by the state enterprise Harvest Management Company LLC at a set price:
• In the Kakheti region, grapes of the Saperavi variety will be purchased at 1.50 GEL;
• Grapes of other wine varieties permitted under the Law of Georgia on Vine and Wine — at 1.20 GEL;
• Non-standard grapes, whose sugar content does not exceed 18% - at 1.00 GEL, as well as damaged/diseased grapes — at 1.00 GEL.
According to this decision of the Government of Georgia, thousands of vine-grower farmers will be given the opportunity to continue their viticulture activities and will be motivated to produce high-quality grapes, which is of vital importance for the development of the winemaking industry, the competitiveness of Georgian wine in international markets, and the growth of exports.
Within the framework of the harvest, the delivery/acceptance of grapes harvested in Georgia will be carried out in accordance with the Agency’s Viticulture Cadastre database.
In 2025, the forecasted grape harvest is in the range of 250–300 thousand tons.
To ensure the organized storage of the grape harvest, the Rtveli Coordination Headquarters will operate 24/7. The address of the Rtveli 2025 Coordination Headquarters is: Gurjaani Municipality, village of Gurjaani.
