French wine expert Clémence Giraud led the Georgian wine presentation and professional tasting.
The event, held in the Nuits-Saint-Georges region, was attended by over 80 guests, including representatives from the HoReCa and wine tourism sectors, sommeliers, buyers, wine producers, local industry experts, and journalists.
As part of the event, the presentation of a new book by France-based scholar Nato Mamukashvili, titled "The Terroirs of Burgundy and the Traditional Winemaking Method in Georgia," was held.
It is noteworthy that, just as the ancient Georgian traditional method of Qvevri winemaking has been inscribed by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the terroirs of Burgundy are also included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
As part of the event, guests were invited to a screening of the documentary "Georgia – The Cradle of Wine." To conclude the evening, attendees had the opportunity to taste Georgian wines paired with traditional Burgundian cuisine.
One of the key priorities of the National Wine Agency of Georgia is the promotion and increased awareness of Georgian wine in international markets. Since 2013, as part of its efforts to support the promotion of Georgian wine and diversify export markets, the Agency has been implementing targeted advertising and marketing campaigns — including in renowned winemaking countries such as France, where there is growing interest in Georgian wine, particularly Qvevri wine.
