Within the framework of the Independence Day celebrations of Georgia in Helsinki, a presentation of Georgian wine was held.
With the support of the National Wine Agency and organized by the Embassy of Georgia to the Kingdom of Finland, a professional presentation of Georgian wine was held at the historic "Finnish House of Nobility" in Helsinki, as part of the celebrations marking Georgia’s Independence Day.
The Georgian wine presentation and tasting, led by Irakli Cholobargia, a representative of the National Wine Agency, was attended by professionals from the HoReCa sector, industry experts, and importers. Irakli Cholobargia introduced the participants to the history of Georgian winemaking, the diversity of indigenous grape varieties, and the traditional Qvevri winemaking method.
The second part of the event featured a formal reception attended by representatives of the Finnish government, the diplomatic corps, the media, as well as wine professionals and influencers. During the reception, guests enjoyed a tasting of Georgian wines accompanied by traditional Georgian folklore and polyphonic music.
With the aim of promoting Georgian wine and diversifying export markets, the National Wine Agency has supported numerous significant marketing activities in recent years across Scandinavian and Northern European countries. Specifically, the Agency has organized several large-scale events in the Kingdom of Sweden, the Kingdom of Denmark, and Iceland. As a result, growing interest in Georgian wine has been observed in these countries.
