The Georgian wine presentation and tasting event was held at Ferrandi Paris—one of the most prestigious schools of French gastronomy.
Another Georgian wine tasting event was held in the French capital for representatives of the HoReCa sector and Michelin-starred restaurants. The main concept of the event focused on pairing Georgian wine with French cuisine.
The events were attended by Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency, and Ekaterine Kokaia, Georgia’s Ambassador to the French Republic.
As part of the visit to France, Levan Mekhuzla met with Nicolas Caillard, Business Development Project Manager of the International Department at Ferrandi Paris. The parties discussed plans for future cooperation.
According to the Chairman of the National Wine Agency, the purpose of participating in these events is to support the diversification of markets for Georgian wine, increase sales, and promote the establishment of Georgian wine as a niche category.
The tastings was led by Ana Godabrelidze, Chair of the Tasting Commission of the National Wine Agency.
One of the key priorities of the National Wine Agency’s activities is the promotion and increased visibility of Georgian wine in international markets. Since 2013, as part of its efforts to support the promotion of Georgian wine and diversify export markets, the agency has been implementing targeted advertising and marketing campaigns—including in world-renowned winemaking countries such as France, where there is growing demand for Georgian wine, particularly Qvevri wine.
