16 Georgian wine-producing companies participated in the London Wine Fair 2025
With the support of the National Wine Agency, 16 Georgian wine-producing companies took part in the international wine and spirits exhibition, London Wine Fair 2025.
The London Wine Fair has been held since 1981 and is considered one of the key events in the wine industry. This prestigious exhibition traditionally attracts thousands of visitors worldwide, including wine experts, representatives of the wine trade sector, and media professionals. Accordingly, the London Wine Fair serves as an important platform for Georgian producers to establish new trade partnerships, promote their products, and increase exports.
Within the framework of the exhibition, Sarah Abbott, Master of Wine and head of the UK-based company Swirl Wine Group — a contractor of the National Wine Agency — conducted three presentations and tastings of Georgian wine for wine professionals. In total, wines from 19 Georgian wine-producing companies were showcased during these sessions.
The Ambassador of Georgia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Giorgi Saganelidze, attended the exhibition. Georgian entrepreneurs presenting their wines at the London Wine Fair 2025 also received support from the Embassy of Georgia in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The United Kingdom is one of the largest wine importers and consumers in the world and has emerged as a strategic export market for Georgian wine since 2014. Through consistent collaboration between the National Wine Agency and Georgian wine producers, it has been possible to establish a growing trend in Georgian wine exports. In 2024, nearly 426,000 liters of Georgian wine were exported to the UK, representing a 72% increase compared to 2023.
