With the support of the National Wine Agency, Georgian wine was showcased at a gastronomy festival in France.
With the aim of diversifying markets and increasing export potential, Georgian wine was presented at the prestigious French wine and gastronomy festival “Les Festives Gourmandes” with the support of the National Wine Agency and the organization of the Agency’s contracted company, Le Pont Caucasien.
The festival, held in the city of Chalon-sur-Saône, annually attracts up to 10,000 visitors, including sommeliers, wine traders, and representatives of the HoReCa sector. This year, the festival celebrated its 20th anniversary.
Ilia Kakhozde, a France-based oenologist and head of the company Le Pont Caucasien, presented wines from five Georgian producers to the festival's guests.
One of the key priorities of the National Wine Agency is the promotion and increased visibility of Georgian wine on international markets. Since 2013, within the framework of the program Supporting the Promotion of Georgian Wine, the Agency has been conducting targeted advertising and marketing campaigns aimed at market diversification—including in renowned winemaking countries such as France, where demand for Georgian wine, particularly qvevri wine, has been steadily growing.
