As part of the state program for promoting Georgian wine products on the local market, the “ZERO COMPROMISE” Natural Wine Festival will be held in Tbilisi on May 2–3.
The state program for promoting Georgian wine products on the local market has been implemented for the second consecutive year by the National Wine Agency in coordination with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia. Within the framework of the program, wine exhibitions, competitions, and festivals are held throughout the country, contributing significantly to the development of wine tourism potential and the enhancement of wine consumption culture.
The annual “ZERO COMPROMISE” festival has been held since 2018 at the initiative of the Natural Wine Association. This year, the festival brings together 84 local member wineries of the association, along with 30 wineries from various countries, including France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, Mexico, Turkey, and Slovenia.
The winemakers participating in the festival do not use systemic chemicals, mineral fertilizers, or herbicides in their vineyards, and they produce wine without any industrial additives. This type of wine is known as “natural wine,” and the festival brings together producers who craft their wines using traditional, authentic methods.
Each year, the festival attracts wine importers, journalists, writers, and other industry professionals from various countries, offering Georgian winery representatives a valuable opportunity to showcase their wines directly to potential buyers. This year, as well, with the support of the LEPL National Wine Agency, the festival is hosting American wine professionals along with wine experts from different parts of the world.
