Quality

As a result of inspections conducted in 41 companies during the first quarter of 2025 — aimed at verifying the compliance of samples submitted for certification with their respective product lots — violations were identified in 5 samples from 3 companies.

Following inspections of 29 companies within the Economic Zone of Clearance by the international auditing firms "Bureau Veritas" and "SGS," no violations were identified.

During the reporting period, state control was carried out in 88 companies, aimed at verifying the compliance of wine production processes with the requirements established by Georgian legislation. Out of 127 samples collected, violations were identified in 4 samples from 4 companies. Laboratory testing is ongoing for a portion of the samples.

For the purpose of organoleptic testing of alcoholic beverages intended for export, 64 tasting sessions were conducted. Out of 2,931 samples submitted for tasting, 2,822 were evaluated positively, while 109 samples received negative evaluations. Organoleptic testing of the samples assesses color and clarity, typicity, presence of defects, aroma, taste, and harmony.

The relevant divisions of the National Wine Agency are engaged in continuous quality monitoring to ensure that tens of millions of liters of Georgian wine comply with international standards, maintain strong competitiveness, and further increase global demand.
