Wine tastings of Georgian wine were held in the largest supermarket chain in the USA, "H-E-B."
With the support of the National Wine Agency and organized by the partner American company “A.G. Global Trade LLC,” 27 Georgian wine tastings were held in March in Houston, USA, at the largest supermarket chain, "H-E-B." Each event featured five Georgian wines for tasting, along with presentations about Georgia as the homeland of wine and a modern, developed winemaking country. The goal of such consumer-oriented events is to diversify markets for Georgian wine and promote sales growth.
The "H-E-B" supermarket chain, headquartered in Texas, is among the largest companies in the USA and operates more than 400 stores in Texas and Mexico.
The United States of America represents one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine. Targeted marketing activities carried out since 2013 with the support of the National Wine Agency have significantly contributed to the increase in awareness and exports of Georgian wine in the U.S. In 2024, exports reached a historic maximum of 1.2 million liters, which exceeds the 2023 figure by 32%.
