01.04.2025

With the support of the National Wine Agency and organized by the agency's contracted American marketing company "Colangelo & Partners," at the TEXSOM International Wine Competition of the Texas Sommelier Conference (TEXSOM), Georgia won 1 special jury award, 2 gold, 13 silver, and 15 bronze medals. (For detailed information about the winning wines, see the link: https://texsom.com/results/). It is noteworthy that in the previous year, 2024, 25 Georgian wines received medals at the TEXSOM competition.
The success of Georgian wine in such a prestigious international competition indicates its reputation and high quality, as well as contributes to its global promotion and sales growth.
At the TEXSOM competition, 50 Georgian wines and brandies from various Georgian companies that are already available on the U.S. market were presented.
The Texas Sommelier Conference (TEXSOM) was founded in 2005 with the goal of raising professional standards and education for local sommeliers. Over time, the conference has become one of the most significant international events in the wine industry. Since 2014, the conference has included an annual international wine competition, with a jury consisting of wine professionals and sommeliers from various countries worldwide.
It is also noteworthy that the marketing company "Colangelo & Partners" has been promoting Georgian wine in the U.S. market since 2022 under a contract with the National Wine Agency. During this period, an increasing trend in Georgian wine exports has been observed. In 2024, exports reached 1.2 million liters, exceeding the 2023 figure by 32%.
