At the international exhibition of natural wines, “RAW Wine Paris 2025,” held in Paris and supported by the National Wine Agency and the Embassy of Georgia in France, nine wineries specializing in qvevri wine were showcased: “Anapea,” “Sherma Family Winery,” “Andrias Wine,” “Gabrielis Wine,” “Kondoli,” “Malati,” “Matiashvili Wine Cellar,” “Samtavisi Cellar,” and “Minadze Cellar - Persvi.”
The showcasing of Georgian qvevri wine at the "RAW Wine" exhibition plays a crucial role in promoting qvevri wine, facilitating the identification of potential importers for small and medium-sized wineries, and enhancing export opportunities.
"RAW Wine" stands as a prominent international exhibition that attracts producers of high-quality natural, organic, and biodynamic wines. This event is organized by the renowned French wine expert, Isabelle Legeron.
„I am delighted to have the opportunity to highlight these remarkable entrepreneurs. Over the years, I have seen a real commitment to quality from Georgia. It is remarkable to note that a decade or more ago, only a handful of entrepreneurs focused on exports, whereas today, hundreds are engaged in producing world-class wine. It is a privilege for me to witness this evolution and to observe the continuous improvement in quality. The advancements in the vineyards are clear, with an increasing number opting for organic practices. Additionally, significant progress is being made in the wineries, where the use of qvevri is on the rise, and local grape varieties along with this ancient traditional method are being actively promoted. Georgian wine is gaining popularity at an impressive rate. I extend my gratitude to Georgia for such a wonderful partnership. It is an honor to be part of this journey alongside you.“ - Isabelle Legeron noted.
This year, approximately 100 natural wine producers from 15 different countries participated in the exhibition held in Paris. Among these countries were those renowned for their winemaking heritage, including France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, among others. As is customary, there was significant interest in Georgian wine from both industry professionals and attendees.
It is important to highlight that, with the assistance of the National Wine Agency, wineries that produce qvevri wine will take part in "RAW Wine" exhibitions across multiple countries in 2025.
