Chinese- Georgian Cultural Center Opening in China
In Nanchang, People’s Republic of China, with Jiangxi silk-road investment company initiative and National Wine Agency and partner fund support, Georgian wine house – “Chinese-Georgian Cultural Center and Wine Shelter – Junge” was opened.
The opening of Georgian wine house was attended by Georgian delegation with leadership of the first vice-premier, minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Dimitry Kumsishvili.
“I want to introduce you the most experienced ambassador of Georgia, the best negotiator and elder of the ambassadors – Georgian wine, “- this was the opening speech of the first vice-premier of Georgia, Dimitri Kumsishvili.
As Mr. Kumsishvili said, 8000 year old ambassador – Georgian wine - started working in Nanchang Georgian wine house.
“I want to congratulate you this day and introduce you the most experienced ambassador of Georgia, the best negotiator and elder of the ambassadors – Georgian wine. Georgian wine house was opened in Nanchang and 8000 year old ambassador – Georgian wine –started working there. He will be successful in his diplomatic work by all means” – stated the minister.
In his speech, the first vice-premier, Dimitry Kumsishvili mentioned, that Georgia is interested in acquisition of political, economical and cultural relationships with People’s Republic of China. As he states, Georgia is ready to widen partnership in the silk-road economic belt project framework and encourage development of multilateral, mutual beneficial relationship with People’s Republic of China in industry, agriculture, transport, communication, science, culture, sport and other directions. Format of relationship between two countries, Georgian-China marketing-economical relationship intergovernmental commission effective work will encourage the future development of marketing-economical relationships.
“Wine is integral part of Georgian culture and history. It’s been long Georgia is considered as “wine home” and today, we should underline, that in People’s Republic of China the main part of our export represents Georgian wine”, - stated Dimitri Kumsishvili.
He also said, it’s complimentary, that by 4 tens of Georgian wine houses are in different provinces of China and according to the existing information, the number may double by the end of the current year.
Georgian wine house in Nanchang is situated on 4 thousand square metres and includes degustation and exposition halls, museums, enoteca and Georgian restaurants.
The guests of Chinese-Georgian cultural center and wine shelter opening ceremony had opportunity to taste Georgian wine, also learn Georgian folklore – Georgian national songs and dances, which is very important for Georgian wine culture popularization in China.
In the last two years, on China bases, by different importer companies were opened several tens of Georgian wine shops, salons, pavilions, houses, centers, restaurants and etc.
According to the data of the last 6 months, in the list of Georgian wine exporter countries, China replaced the 4th place to the 3rd. 1.9 ml bottles(0.75l) of wine have been exported to China in the past half of the year, the growth exceeded 148% compared to the similar data of the last year.
The activity held in Nanchang was attended by the minister of Environment and Natural Resources of Georgia, Gigla Agulashvili, partnership fund director, Davit Saganelidze, deputy of Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili, also public officials of Georgia and Jiangxi. The official opening ceremony was attended by over 200 native guests.
