Twenty-four Georgian wine producer companies participated in ProWine Shanghai, one of the most prestigious exhibitions in the wine industry held in Shanghai, People's Republic of China. This event was supported and organized by the National Wine Agency.
„The National Wine Agency has been actively conducting a range of marketing campaigns in the People's Republic of China in recent years as part of the Georgian wine promotion program. ProWine Shanghai and other international exhibitions of similar scale play a crucial role in diversifying Georgian wine export markets. These events attract leading wine specialists, importers, and media representatives from around the globe. ProWine Shanghai traditionally attracts over 100,000 attendees, including distributors, importers, and wine industry professionals.“, -  stated Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency, who attended the aforementioned exhibition.
Additionally, Georgian wine was showcased at the "Amber Wine Symposium," which took place as part of the exhibition. This event was attended by prominent wine experts from the People's Republic of China, as well as media representatives, sommeliers, importers, and distributors. A total of 13 countries were represented at the symposium, including Italy, France, Australia, Spain, Austria, and others. It was emphasized at the symposium that the demand for amber wine is increasing in the global wine market. In addition to Georgia, the country of origin for amber wine, an increasing number of countries are expressing interest in its production.
As part of the symposium, a master class was conducted on the pairing of Georgian wines, including amber wine, with both Georgian and Chinese cuisine. This session was led by the renowned Georgian chef Tekuna Gachechiladze, in collaboration with his Chinese counterpart.
