As of October 3, 278,000 tons of grapes have been processed in Georgia, of which 276,000 tons are from Kakheti, 1,630 tons are from Racha, and the rest are harvested from various wine-growing regions of Georgia.
The income generated from the sale of grapes amounts to 415 million GEL. At this stage, the 20,000 winegrowers have successfully stored their harvest.
To date, a total of 450 wine companies and wineries have participated in the vintage process.
The vintage in the Kakheti and Racha regions has concluded, and in the coming days, the vintage will commence in Lechkhumi, specifically in the Tsageri municipality.
To promote the sale of the harvest by winegrowers, maintain grape quality, and support the stable development of the wine industry, the Government of Georgia is subsidizing the vintage this year as well.
In the Kakheti region, all companies that paid a minimum of 1.00 GEL to winegrowers for Rkatsiteli will be eligible to receive a state subsidy. Additionally, starting September 13, "Harvest Management Company" Ltd will be purchasing 1 kg of Saperavi grapes from winegrower farmers at a rate of 1.50 GEL.
In the Racha region, companies that have compensated winegrowers with a minimum of 8 GEL per kilogram for Alexandrouli and Mujuretuli grapes cultivated in the Khvanchkara microzone will be eligible for a subsidy. In exchange for 1 kilogram of Alexandrouli and 1 kilogram of Mujuretuli, these companies will receive a state subsidy of 4 GEL.
