With the support of the National Wine Agency and the organization of its contractor, American marketing company ,,Colangelo & Partners’’, a press tour for American wine journalists was conducted in Georgia.
„To enhance the awareness of Georgian wine in the United States, we collaborate with the National Wine Agency. We are introducing Georgian wine to the American market in collaboration with trade representatives, media, and wine lovers residing in the United States, with their assistance. It should be noted that there has been an unprecedented increase in the sales of Georgian wine in the United States, along with a significant rise in awareness of this product. This marked the second visit of American wine professionals to Georgia in September of this year. The group of journalists included Emily Saladino, one of the editors of the famous American wine publication"Wine Enthusiast", who conducted a tasting of Georgian wines. Wines evaluated using Wine Enthusiast's 100-point rating system will be published in Wine Enthusiast.
As part of the tour, wine professionals visited Georgian wine-producing companies in Kakheti and Kartli, where they had the opportunity to learn about Georgian winemaking technology and taste both classical and traditional Georgian wines on-site
It is important to highlight that the United States represents a strategic market for Georgian wine, where an active marketing campaign is being executed with the financial and organizational support of the National Wine Agency.
As part of the National Wine Agency's marketing strategy, the consumer-oriented advertising campaign executed in the USA, alongside collaboration with media outlets such as CBS and CNN, has proven successful. Consequently, an unprecedented increase in Georgian wine sales was recorded in the fourth quarter of 2023 and throughout 2024. From January to August of this year, Georgia exported approximately 900,000 liters of wine to the USA, representing a 66% increase compared to the same period last year.
