"Georgian wine is exceptional, and the consumption of amber wine in the United States is on the rise," - stated the Vice President of the American marketing company ,,Colangelo & Partners’’.
With the support of the National Wine Agency and the organization of its contractor, the American marketing company ,,Colangelo & Partners’’, a tour of American wine professionals was conducted in Georgia.
The 12-member group comprised representatives from the wine trade sector and ,,Colangelo & Partners’’.
The United States represents a strategic market for Georgian wine, supported by an active marketing campaign facilitated by the financial and organizational backing of the National Wine Agency. Visits by American wine professionals are a key component of the aforementioned campaign. During these visits, guests will have the opportunity to explore Georgian wines, as well as the history of Georgia and its culture.
As part of the tour, wine professionals visited Georgian wine producing companies in Kakheti and Kartli, where they became acquainted with Georgian winemaking technology and tasted both classical and traditional Georgian wines on-site.
„Amber wine consumption is on the rise in the United States and is increasingly prominent on restaurant wine lists. Georgian wine is regarded as exceptional and pairs well with a variety of cuisines. I think that restaurant sommeliers, heads of wine agencies, and hotel food and beverage operators should visit Georgia to experience the diversity and quality of its wines, enabling them to promote and expand the wine category in their respective countries.“, - Paul Yanon, Vice President of Colangelo & Partners.
Within the framework of collaboration with the National Wine Agency, ,,Colangelo & Partners’’ has been executing a marketing campaign for Georgian wine in the United States since 2022. ,,Colangelo & Partners’’ is one of the largest marketing firms, with over 15 years of experience in the American market.
With the initiative and support of the National Wine Agency, the consumer-oriented advertising campaign implemented in the USA, along with collaboration with media outlets such as CBS and CNN, has proven successful. As a result, an unprecedented increase in Georgian wine sales was recorded in the fourth quarter of 2023 and the early part of 2024. From January to August of this year, nearly 900,000 liters of wine were exported from Georgia to the USA, reflecting a 66% increase compared to the same period last year.
