26.07.2024

During 6 months of this year, with the organization and financial support of the National Wine Agency, Georgian wine was represented in 12 countries of Georgia and the world (USA, Portugal, Norway, Italy, Netherlands, Japan, Poland, Germany, France, Great Britain, Belgium, China) at the event, including 57 tastings, one international competition, 17 exhibitions and 9 festivals.
In addition to the international marketing campaigns, the National Wine Agency carries out the "State Program for the Promotion of Georgian Wine Products within the Local Market". This program includes the funding of Georgian wine festivals, thematic exhibitions, competitions, and educational activities planned throughout Georgia. The objective of the program is to enhance the flexibility and transparency of the state's financial support mechanism for the promotion of wine production in the local market. As part of this program, a total of 22 events will be organized during the year 2024, with financial backing from the National Wine Agency. Additionally, in the first half of this year, six events of different nature have already been successfully conducted, with funding provided by the government.
The budget allocation for the state program aimed at promoting Georgian wine in 2024 has been established at 16 million GEL, representing an increase of 2 million GEL compared to the budget for 2023.
It is important to highlight that organizing wine exhibitions, competitions, tours, and festivals throughout Georgia plays a significant role in fostering the growth of wine tourism and cultivating a culture of wine bottle consumption among the local population.
The United States, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, the Baltic states, China, South Korea, and Japan maintain their status as priority markets for Georgian wine. The National Wine Agency, in partnership with contracted marketing firms, implements a variety of initiatives with the goal of promoting Georgian wine and expanding its export in the specified markets. Additionally, Georgian wine is showcased at significant international exhibitions and festivals of wine and alcoholic beverages across America, Europe, and Asia.
