The winners of the 14th Georgia International wine Award were announced

21 wines won gold medals at the competition, with six exceptional wines receiving the highest honor, the "trophy" award. Additionally, 77 wines were awarded silver medals and 96 wines received bronze medals. In total, the competition featured 226 wine samples from 76 companies, including both large companies and small family wineries.
The Georgia International wine Award took place as part of the 16th International Wine and Spirits Exhibition, WinExpo Georgia.
Resan Kikava, the director of the exhibition center "ExpoGeorgia," along with Levan Mekhuzla, the chairman of the National Wine Agency, and other members of the competition jury, presented the awards to the winning companies.
"As a jury member, I can confidently say that this competition showcased the true essence of Georgian wine and the current state of winemaking. The competition featured outstanding wines, and I would like to express my gratitude to the jury chairman and all the members who evaluated the Georgian wines. This competition plays a vital role in promoting Georgian wine and winemaking culture, as well as increasing international recognition for specific wine producers and their products," stated Levan Mekhuzla.
During the award ceremony, Shalva Khetsuriani, the president of the Association of Sommeliers of Georgia, presented the special "Sommelier's Choice" prize to six exceptional wines.
The competition's jury consisted of renowned wine experts, oenologists, and professionals, including Master of Wine Tim Atkin from Great Britain as the chairman, and members such as Anna Martin Onzan from Spain, Kenichi Ohashi from Japan, Khong Kong Bo from Great Britain, Beth Willard from Australia, Chan Joon Park from the Republic of Korea, Levan Mekhuzla (Chairman of the National Wine Agency, Georgia), Mikheil Meskhi from Georgia, Ana Godabrelidze from Georgia, and Giorgi Dakishvili from Georgia.
The 16th International Exhibition of Wine and Alcoholic Beverages, WinExpo Georgia 2024, took place in Tbilisi from June 7 to 9, with the support of the National Wine Agency of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture and organized by the exhibition center "ExpoGeorgia."
