Georgian Wine - National Wine Agency

With the backing of the National Wine Agency, sixteen Georgian wine producers are currently taking part in the "Foodex Japan 2024" international food and beverage exhibition, held in Tokyo, Japan.
Participation in the "Foodex Japan 2024" event will provide wine producers with an opportunity to discover potential trade partners and significantly enhance the visibility of Georgian wine. This, in turn, will contribute to the establishment and promotion of Georgian wine within the local market.
Within the context of the exhibition, representatives from the National Wine Agency will be engaging in discussions with Japanese marketing and consulting firms with the aim of fostering further collaboration.
Japan is one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine. With the backing of the National Wine Agency, the initial extensive introduction of Georgian wine to the Japanese market took place in 2014. Since then, with the support of the state, Georgian wine companies have consistently participated in prestigious international exhibitions such as "Foodex Japan" and "Wine and Gourmet Japan". Presentation tastings of Georgian wine have been organized in various cities across Japan, along with wine tours for Japanese wine professionals and media representatives throughout all regions of Georgia.
It is worth mentioning that Georgian wine producer companies have been participating in the ,,Foodex Japan’’ exhibition since 2015.
Due to the marketing initiatives implemented by the National Wine Agency, there has been a notable upturn in the volume of Georgian wine exports to Japan. Based on the statistics for January/February 2024, a total of 28 thousand liters of wine were successfully exported from Georgia to Japan, indicating a remarkable increase of 549% compared to the corresponding period in 2023.
The international food and beverage exhibition "Foodex Japan" has been held in Japan since 1976 and is widely regarded as one of the largest and most prestigious events in Asia.
