With the purposes of diversifying the Georgian wine markets, a visit of group of wine professionals from the Republic of Korea Georgia is being implementing by the organization of the National Wine Agency.
Among the guests are the founder of the Korean Wine Writers Club, the Director of the Eastern and Central European Wine Institute, Chan Jun Park, the President of the Korean International Sommelier Association, Jae Young Ko, as well as the Heads of large importing companies and wine trade networks.
Within the framework of the visit, the guests will be introduced to the wine producing companies and their products in Kartli and Kakheti. The members of the group are highly interested in finding new partners in Georgia, which will have a direct impact on increasing the popularity and export of Georgian wine in the Korean market.
A similar wine tour which was organized by the National Wine Agency, was carried out last year as well and resulted in a trade partnership between several Georgian wine producing companies and Korean importers.
The Republic of Korea was identified as a strategic market for the National Wine Agency in 2019, where a number of important marketing events were organized and implemented with the support of the National Wine Agency. The events served to provide information about Georgian wine to Korean consumers and promote Georgian wine.
Starting this year, the agricultural program of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) has been involved in the promotion of Georgian wine in the Republic of Korea within the framework of the cooperation memorandum signed between the National Wine Agency. With the support of the USAID Agriculture Program, two large-scale presentations and tastings of Georgian wine were organized in the Republic of Korea this year.
