With the support of the National Wine Agency, British wine professionals are visiting Georgia
With the support of the National Wine Agency, Sarah Abbott, the British Master of Wine, the Head of the contractor company of the National Wine Agency, "Swirl Wine Group", and a group of 12 wine professionals are visiting Georgia.
Within the tour for familiarizing with Georgian wine industry, the guests visited Georgian wine producing companies in Kakheti and tasted different styles of Georgian wines.
“I'm here with a group of UK wine importers and wine journalists. They are in Georgia for the first time, however, they are all very experienced wine professionals. We started our journey in Telavi with a visit to Zaza Kbilashvili, the producer of Qvevri wine. We are now in the Ruispiri biodynamic vineyard, which is very interesting for our guests, as many of them are already familiar with biodynamic vineyards. This is the first Georgian biodynamic vineyard that they have seen," said Sarah Abbott.
Within the visit, the British wine professionals had the opportunity to be introduced to the wines of 15 companies of different denominations at a tasting held specially for them in Tbilisi. Within the framework of the event, meetings were also held in B2B format. Georgian wine producers received evaluations and recommendations from British professionals. Irakli Cholobargia, Advisor to the National Wine Agency, delivered a presentation on the landscape and terroirs of Georgia, the history of Georgian wine and viticulture.
Great Britain is one of the important strategic markets for Georgian wine, where various marketing events are implemented with the financial and organizational support of the National Wine Agency.
