Against the background of export growth and taking into account the current demand for the purchase of grapes, the private sector is active this year, which was also reflected in the purchase price of grapes: The average price of Rkatsiteli of the main industrial varieties in this period of the 2023 harvest is 1.08 GEL (in 2022 it was 0.92 GEL), and for Saferavi 1.56 GEL (in 2022 - 1.50 GEL). Private enterprises paid 1.35 GEL for quality Rkatsiteli, and 1.80 GEL for Saferavi.
Along with this, the submission of grapes damaged by the hailstorm and strong wind on September 2 is proceeding smoothly. 2080 tons of damaged grapes were processed by the state wine enterprise "Harvest Management Company" LLC. The growers hand over the damaged grapes to "Harvest Management Company" LLC for 90 tetri. Collection of harvested grapes is currently taking place at 6 locations in the following municipalities: Telavi (2 locations), Sighnaghi, Kvareli and Gurjaani (2 locations).
