Within the framework of vintage 2023, the state will subsidize the grape varieties of Rkatsiteli and Kakhuri Mtsvane.
According to the decision of the government of Georgia, the company that, during vintage 2023, will purchase and process at least 100 tons of Rkatsiteli and/or Kakhuri Mtsvane grapes grown in the Kakheti region, will receive the state subsidy. In addition, the purchaser of the grapes will be paid at least 0.90 GEL for 1 kg of purchased grapes. In exchange for the purchase of grapes grown by viticulturists in the Kakheti region, the subsidy given to companies is 0.20 GEL for 1 kg of Rkatsiteli and 1 kg of Kakhuri Mtsvane.
For the purposes of conducting the vintage 2023 in an organized manner, the Coordination Headquarters of the Vintage in Telavi will work 24 hours a day. Interested persons may get information related to the vintage through the hotline of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture - 1501.
Last year, the state subsidy for 1 kg of Rkatsiteli and 1 kg of Kakhuri Mtsvane amounted to 0.35 GEL.
It is noteworthy that the proper policy implemented by the state in recent years in the field of viticulture and winemaking significantly strengthened the sector: new vineyards has been planted, new companies has been founded, wine quality has been improved, the area of export markets expanded, wine export and grape harvest increased to a record amount, and the agro credit and agro insurance system is operating.
