The tour of American wine professionals was carried out in Georgia with the support of the National Wine Agency
Wine importers and the representatives of the American marketing company Colangelo & Partners", contractor of the National Wine Agency were present amount the guests. The purpose of the tour was to increase popularity of Georgian wine in the US market.
The members of the 13-person group of professionals visited Georgian wine-making companies in Kakheti and Kartli, where they got introduced the history and traditions of Georgian wine-making, and tasted Georgian wines made by classical method as well as by traditional method.
As part of the tour, a Georgian wine master class was held for guests in Tbilisi, where wines from different regions of Georgia were presented.
. Considering the possibility of finding potential importers and, therefore, increasing exports, it is particularly important to introduce American professionals to Georgian wine.
The marketing activities carried out by the National Wine Agency in recent years facilitated to increase the popularity of Georgian wine in the USA, which was reflected in particular results. During the 6 months of 2023, 434 thousand liters of wine were exported from Georgia to the USA, the increase is 5% compared to the same period of last year. In addition, the USA market is one of the most expensive segments for Georgian wine, where the price of one liter of Georgian wine exceeds 6 USD.
