„Seoul Wine and Spirits Expo 2023“, the international wine and spirits exhibition was opened in Seoul , the capital of the Republic of Korea on June 22.   With the support of the National Wine Agency, 14 Georgian wine producing companies are participating in the exhibition. "although during the last 10 years, the export of Georgian wine has been intensively growing in dozens of countries of the world, we continue our work in the direction of finding new stable and promising markets; We think that the South Korean market is one of them," said Yuri Nozadze, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, who attended the opening of the exhibition "Seoul Wine and Spirits Expo 2023"  with the Chairman of the National Wine Agency Levan Mekhuzla and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia in the Republic of Korea Tarash Papaskua.
According to the statement by Chairman of the National Wine Agency, the presenting  Georgian wine at such large-scale exhibitions serves the diversification of Georgian wine export markets. "South Korea is one of the interesting and promising markets for Georgian wine, where, as a result of the right marketing strategy and targeted work, it will be possible to achieve tangible success. During the course of the exhibition, it is clear that there is a great interest in Georgian wine, as well as in history and culture. It should be noted that at this point the export of Georgian wine to South Korea is growing, although the resource is large and as a result of the joint efforts of the state and the private sector, we have a real opportunity of increasing the indicators", said Levan Mekhuzla.
“Seoul International Wine & Spirits Expo“  is one of the largest annual wine and spirits events in the Asian region. This year, the exhibition is held from June 22 to June 24. Within the framework of the three-day exhibition, Georgian wine producers have the opportunity to present their products to local wine professionals, which is one of the prerequisites for interest in Georgian wine and subsequent sales growth.
Based on the evaluation of Georgian wine producers participating in the exhibition, South Korea, along with China and Japan, is a promising market for Georgian wine, where the special interest in Georgian red and Qvevri wines is shown.
The first presentation of Georgian wine at "Seoul International Wines and Spirits Expo" was held in 2015. With the support of the National Wine Agency, Georgian winemakers participated in the mentioned exhibition in 2019 and 2022. Initially, there were seven companies participating in the exhibition, and this year, this number has doubled.
